Coaching Agreement & Privacy Notice

Please read both before we begin working together. If anything here raises a question, email me at [email protected] and I'll answer it properly.

Coaching Agreement, Disclaimer & Waiver

These terms apply to everything sold through happierbytheminute.com — private coaching, the ND Parenting Lab, courses, guides and books.

All coaching services and communication, email or otherwise, delivered by Stacey Yates Sellar are meant to help you identify the areas in your life and in your thinking that may be standing in your way. Coaching is not professional mental health care or medical care. If you feel psychologically stressed to the point that it is interfering with your ability to function, please seek the help you need from a clinical therapist. Coaching may sit alongside therapy, but the work of coaching is meant to be done when major emotional and psychological wounds are already healing or healed.

By purchasing, you confirm that you have read and agree to each of the following:

  • I understand that the coaching services, courses and materials I receive are not offered as a substitute for professional mental health care or medical care, and are not intended to diagnose, treat or cure any mental health or medical condition, including clinical depression, clinical anxiety, clinical psychosis, substance addiction, suicidal ideation or suicidal behaviour, domestic abuse, sexual or physical abuse, or self-harm or harm to others. I understand that my Coach is not acting as a mental health counsellor or a medical professional.
  • I understand that the services provided may be delivered from any remote location worldwide.
  • I understand and agree that I am responsible for my own wellbeing during and after coaching sessions, and for how I choose to apply any material I receive.
  • I understand that coaching is not a substitute for counselling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, mental health care or substance abuse treatment, and I will not use it in place of any form of therapy.
  • I understand that all comments, ideas and materials offered are for the purpose of helping me achieve my own defined goals. I am able to give my informed consent, and I give that consent.
  • I understand that coaching is a partnership — an alliance, not a legal business partnership — between Coach and Client, in a thought-provoking and creative process intended to help the client develop and carry out their own plans. Coaching is not therapy, does not substitute for therapy, and does not prevent, cure or treat any mental disorder or medical disease.
  • I understand that my Coach will treat my information as confidential unless I state otherwise in writing. If I disclose child or elder abuse or neglect, or threaten harm to myself or someone else, I understand that appropriate action may be taken and that confidentiality is limited in this respect. If my Coach is ordered by a court to provide information or to testify, they will do so to the extent the law requires.
  • I understand that the use of technology is not always secure, and I accept the risks to confidentiality involved in email, text, phone, Zoom and other technology.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

Your purchase, cancellation and refunds

Private coaching — Beyond The Behavior

Your sessions. Eight 60-minute sessions, available to use within 12 weeks of your first session.

Rescheduling. You may reschedule any session with at least 24 hours' notice, as many times as you need, with no penalty and no explanation required.

Late cancellations. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice, or do not attend, that session counts as used. You have one exception, no questions asked.

When something happens. If your child is in crisis, or something goes badly wrong, tell me. We will work it out.

If you need to stop. If it isn't working for you, tell me within the first three weeks and I will refund you in full. No questions. After three weeks the fee is non-refundable, but your remaining sessions stay available for the full 12 weeks.

If I need to cancel. I will give you as much notice as I can, and you will have first choice of my next available times.

The ND Parenting Lab

The Lab is a monthly membership. You can cancel at any time from your account, and you keep access until the end of the month you have paid for. Part-months are not refunded. Live call times are published in advance and may occasionally move; recordings and written summaries are provided.

Courses, guides and downloads

Digital products are delivered immediately on purchase. Because access begins straight away, the standard 14-day cancellation right for digital content does not apply once you have opened or downloaded the material — by purchasing, you agree to immediate access and acknowledge that you lose that right. If something is faulty, does not work, or is not as described, contact me and I will fix it or refund you.

Books

Printed books bought through third-party retailers are subject to that retailer's returns policy.

Starting within 14 days

Where a coaching session or membership begins within 14 days of purchase, you are agreeing for the service to start before the standard cancellation period ends. My own refund terms above are more generous than the statutory minimum and continue to apply.

Sharing and copyright

Everything I provide — workbooks, guides, recordings, scripts and course material — is for your own family's use. Please don't share, resell or redistribute it. Tell other parents about it instead; I would rather they came and found it themselves.

Privacy, Transcription & AI Use

To keep this a safe and confidential space, live coaching calls are not audio or video recorded.

What I do record. I use a secure third-party transcription service to create a written record of sessions. Transcripts help me keep accurate records, track what is changing, prepare properly between sessions, and notice patterns across our work together.

How AI is used. I use an AI assistant for administrative work — organising notes, drafting session summaries, identifying themes, and preparing for our next call. It supports my professional judgment and does not replace it. No AI system makes decisions about you or your child.

About your child. Our sessions will involve detailed information about your child, including their behaviour, health and any diagnoses. I treat this as the most sensitive information in my practice. It receives the same protection as your own information, is never used for marketing or as an example, and is not shared with anyone outside the services described here.

Who sees it. Your information is shared only with the third-party providers that make this service work: a transcription provider, an AI assistant, and my scheduling and payment platforms. Where practical, identifying details are removed or minimised. Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared with anyone else.

How long I keep it. Transcripts and session notes are kept for the duration of our work together and for 12 months afterwards, then permanently deleted.

Changing your mind. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing [email protected]. I will delete your transcripts within 30 days and confirm when it is done. You can also ask for a copy of what I hold. Withdrawing consent does not affect your place in the programme — I will simply work from handwritten notes instead.
