Did you know Gratitude works to increase happiness? (and if you didn't then you haven't seen my earlier episodes)
So if you do know that gratitude does work to increase happiness then why aren't you doing it?
You are not allowed to say “I don't have time”!
It’s a lie. And you are banned from saying it ever again. Even if you don't have time to write 3 things down, you certainly have time to think them- while you brush your teeth or the minute before you fall asleep or before you get out of bed or in the shower or at a red light. You have over 50,000 thoughts a day. Imagine how different you could feel if you replaced even just a few of those negative, judgmental, worrying thoughts with those of gratitude.
Another excuse I hear- You can't seem to remember? Don't worry I have a Solution for that too.
Put a post-it note on your nightstand, or in your car.
Tape a note to your refrigerator that says “Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.“ Just to remind yourself that you have the luxury of a refrigerator. Place a post-it note to your bathroom mirror with a reminder to recognize three things while you are brushing your teeth.
If you can remember to brush your teeth, you can do this!
So if you want to be happier now, then start by recognizing three gifts that are in your life RIGHT NOW and say “THANK YOU!”.
